General:Who are you – what do you do and length of service in the military movement? Goossen Foppen, 42 years old, married and 2 children. Employed in the family company. Have been involved in the movement since 6 years, which is fairly short. Why did you get involved, how did you get involved, where were you before? It all started with a post-war MV and went from bad to worse. The famous green virus got to me. What is the attraction to you about the whole of the military scene? Hard to say, the history of the vehicles, what they were used for. The simplicity. Feelings have a lot to do with it too. What needs to be done to insure that history is kept alive and passed down to the next generation? We must strengthen the role of the movement. By doing this you preserve the vehicles and above all the knowledge and expertise to keep them rolling and thus being able to show them to future generations. Participating in and organising of events is a big part of this tool What was your scariest moment? Have not had any yet. What is your 'perfect' weekend? A nice camp with a beautiful tour. But above all seeing people smile and enjoying the hobby and vehicles. Have you ever been over to the UK to visit a show? Yes, visited War & Peace. What is your take on Dutch made MVs? It’s important to give them attention. These vehicles have historical significance too. Collection: How does it feel being the keeper so much history under one roof? A warm feeling Which vehicle do you think is still missing from your collection? An amphibious vehicle. Keep them Rolling: What is the aim of Keep Them Rolling? Keeping vehicles, ships and airplanes from 1939-1945 rolling, a rolling museum. Are their any goals you have set that you want to achieve with KTR? This will be decided upon with the members. Do you think there is enough (international) cooperation in the movement? No, not enough. The movement has changed dramatically in the last decade, where do think the movement will be in 5-10 years time? This is hard to tell, perhaps more in the direction of Living History. Last but not least, should you meet Jack Beckett he'll buy you something at the bar, what can he get you? A coke
