This C47 was based at this airfield in WW2 and dropped the 101st airborne into Normandy. This was the first time that it had been back since WW2 - this clip is of it taking off from the Upottery airfield - Devon. We were all honoured to be there. Thanks Robin and thanks to Lawson Green the cameraman!

We flew around 800-1000 feet above above SME, we circled nicely and you can see from that height how important this town was and how low the paratroopers dropped. UTAH BEACH IS IN THE BACK GROUND AS WE BANK AROUND. This trip was organised by the Big Red One Memorial Group
